Many an adventure can be had in Carraig and this website is scattered with ideas! For the best walking trails in the area, Gillian's Walks has become a trusted favourite. You can hire Gillian as a private walk guide, join in with scheduled events or source a walking route. Some walks in Carraig are linked below. Don't forget to try out Bruce's Web Trail when you are out and about too!

The Maybole Mercat Cross sculpture was created by Turnberry based artist John McKenna.

The village sculptures were created by Girvan based artist David Powell.

GOLF IN CARRAIG

Carraig is home to three links and parkland courses. The world famous Trump Turnberry Open Championship course and its neighbour Girvan Golf Course, sharing the same stunning coastal views plus a nine hole parkland course in Maybole.

Turnberry has three courses, the Ailsa Championship Course (where the Open has been held), the King Robert the Bruce Championship Course and the 9 hole Arran Course. Turnberry also boasts Trump Turnberry Hotel and Spa and Turnberry Adventures offer outdoor pursuits including clay shooting, quad biking, 4x4 off road driving, archery and an equestrian centre.

CYCLING IN CARRAIG

Maybole's Carrick Centre has become the UK's first accredited community mobility hub. The Carrick Centre is located next to Maybole Train Station, bus services and is close to a National Cycle Network route 7. The Centre connects these transport services by offering e-bike hire, e-car club hire, electric vehicle chargers and a community minibus service.

Biosphere Bikes in Girvan is a community bike hub dedicated to making cycling accessible for all, saving bikes from landfill and refurbishing them instead. Biosphere Bikes offer bike hire, servicing and bike sales. Check out their range of bikes and seaside hub!

 

Carraig cycle routes include Cycle Route CA2, Cycle Route CA3, Route 7 Sea to Sea Cycle Route, Ayrshire Alps Cycle Park. Cycling routes are taken at entirely own risk.

The South Ayrshire Snorkel Trail led by Adventure Carrick includes Carraig locations Lendalfoot, Girvan, Maidens, Culzean Country Park and Dunure. The sites highlight the captivating seascapes and diverse underwater ecosystems of the area. Adventure Carrick also offers a host of activities and trips including Bushcraft, Axe Throwing, SUP, Coasteering, Open Canoeing, Kayaking, Biking, Trail Walking and Wild Food Adventures. Sounds like there are adventures to be had!
